"Rīgas satiksme" to start issuing "Riga resident’s cards" on November 19. Customers may apply online using e-signatures

“Rīgas satiksme” has received “Riga resident’s cards” and plans to start issuing these cards in customer service centres on November 19. As of November 14, customers may also apply for “Riga resident’s cards” using e-signatures. This is another convenience for those who use electronic environment to receive “Riga resident’s cards”. After authentication with e-signature and filling in the application form, the client has to visit a customer service centre just to receive a ready “Riga resident’s cards”. On the first day, November 19, at 15.00, Riga mayor Ušakovs Nils and vice-mayor Andris Ameriks will receive their “Riga resident’s cards” in the customer service centre located at Brīvības Street 49/53.

By November 14, 2013, 36, 270 persons applied for receiving “Riga resident’s cards”. Rīgas satiksme” reminds that it has developed the procedure of applying for and receiving “Riga resident’s cards”.

Persons who have personalised e-tickets

Those who pay reduced or zero fare

  • Persons who have a personalised e-tickets and enjoy any of the fare discounts granted by Riga City Council (persons above the age of 75 years declared in Riga, non-working pensioners, liquidators of consequences of nuclear disaster at Chernobyl nuclear power plant, victims of political repressions, parents of families with six and more children, children who are orphans, disabled persons, teachers, students of vocational schools, students and pupils), can use their e-tickets until the expiry date. They shall not go after “Riga resident’s cards” now and will receive the cards when their personalised e-tickets expire.

Those who pay full ticket price

  • Persons who are using personalised e-tickets, are declared in Riga and buy tickets in Riga public transport for full price, shall take their identity documents, go to one of “Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres and fill in “Riga resident’s status” application form. In December these persons shall go to one of e-ticket vending machines and insert their e-ticket to activate “Riga resident’s status”. To save their time, customers may call toll-free phone number 80001919 in advance and arrange the visit. They can also fill in an electronic form, as well as to register in an electronic queue at www.rigassatiksme.lv.

Persons who have no personalised e-tickets

A person declared in Riga will be able to receive “Riga resident’s card” in two ways – by e-mailing the form and then visiting one of customer service centres to receive the card, or by visiting personally one of the customer service centres.

Electronic application:

  • these persons shall fill in an application form at “Rīgas satiksme” website (section “Riga resident’s card”), attach a photo and e-mail it to “Rīgas satiksme”;
  • the form shall include the address of the customer service centre where the person wants to receive the “Riga resident’s card”;
  • as of December 1 it will be possible to receive “Riga resident’s card” in the customer service centre stated in the application form. If the application form is filled in after December 1, “Riga resident’s card” will be ready in five work days and will be issued outside the queue at the address stated in the application form.

Personal visit to a customer service centre:

  • a customer shall visit a customer service centre, having an identity document with him/her. To speed up the process, we urge our clients to fill in an application form at “Rīgas satiksme” website (section “Riga resident’s card”) in advance. A client may apply for visiting a service centre by calling  80001919 or at www.rigassatiksme.lv;
  • in the customer service centre, the client will receive a “Riga resident’s card”, to which tickets with discounts will be loaded and which will be used in public transport as of January 1, 2014.

"Rīgas satiksme" customer service centres are located at Brīvības Street 49/53, Brīvības Street 191, Brīvības Street 384b, Prāgas Street 1, Spīķeru Street 1, Vienības gatve 76b and Kurzemes Avenue 137. They are open every day from 9.00 till 21.00 (including on Saturdays and Sundays): 9.00-21.00. The additional customer service centres   in the premises of “Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks” are located at Gobas Street 6a, Baltāsbaznīcas Street 52, Maskavas Street 168, A.Deglava Street 106/4, Brīvības Street 430a. The working hours of all customer service centres located in the premises of “Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks”: from 10.00 till 19.00 on Mondays, from 8.00 till 16.00 on Tuesdays, from 8.30 till 17.00 on Wednesdays, from 10.00 till 18.00 on Thursdays, from 8.30 till 16.00 on Fridays, with a lunch break from 12.30 till 13.00. There are also customer service centres in the premises of Riga’s Eastern (Austrumu) Executive Board at Daugavpils Street 31 (open on workdays from 8.30 till 20.00) and Riga’s Pārdaugava Executive Board at Eduarda Smiļģa Street 46 (open on workdays from 8.30 till 20.00) and at Dzirciema Street 26 (open on Mondays from 8.30 till 18.00, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8.30 till 17.00 and on Fridays from 8.30 till 16.00).

Everybody can also apply for visiting a customer service centre, as well as to fill in electronic application forms for receiving a “Riga resident’s card” or “Riga resident’s status” at www.rigassatiksme.lv.
